Meet farm seekers like Bo Dennis on Maine FarmLink

MFT’s FarmLink is a linking service that helps connect people who are seeking farmland, with farmland owners (or their representatives) who are looking to sell, lease or work out non-traditional tenure arrangements, based on their respective interests, needs and goals. Farmers and landowners from around the state use this platform to share their stories and find the right situation for themselves and their farm. Get a glimpse at the farm profiles listed on the site by reading a profile of a recent addition to the site.

A note from FarmLink Seeker, Bo Dennis:

“I have been farming for 12 years now, 10 of which have been in Maine. These years have included managing a 120 acre educational farm with diversified vegetable and livestock, managing a certified organic vegetable CSA farm, and currently running my small flower farm of Dandy Ram Farm on leased acreage in Monroe.? I am experienced in operating machinery, installing farm infrastructure including greenhouses, building soil sustainably, marketing products, business planning, and managing many crops and livestock. I have participated in the apprenticeship program as well as the Journeyperson program through MOFGA.? My goal for my farm is to bring joy to my surrounding community through mutual aid models.? My fresh flowers are sold on a sliding scale to support all income levels, with a % of gross sales being redistributed to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) farmland tenure, and many flowers being donated locally. I am a queer farmer and work to build a farming community that is inclusive to my experience as a trans gay man and other farmers of marginalized identities.? I sell fresh flower bouquets to local stores, in vegetable CSA add-ons, through a farm stand in Monroe, and a flower CSA.? In the fall I harvest, make, and market evergreen wreaths and dried flower wreaths which are shipped across the country.? I am looking for farmland to purchase, ideally from a homesteader that has goals to keep their farmland maintained sustainably as they transition off their farm.”?
