Maxwell Farm has been a family-owned working farm for generations, and is one of the few remaining farms in Cape Elizabeth, ME. Cape Elizabeth Land Trust (CELT) and MFT have partnered with farm owners Nate and Kathy Maxwell to protect this 76-acre property and help ensure that it remains in agriculture for future generations of farmers. Once conserved, Maxwell Farm will become the largest, permanently preserved farm closest to Portland.

Together, CELT and MFT are raising funds to secure the full value of a farmland easement on Maxwell Farm, assuring the property is forever designated for farmland use. Valued at $1,779,000*, the easement includes an Option to Purchase at Agricultural Value (OPAV). The OPAV means that if the property is sold in the future there is a method to ensure that it stays in agricultural use, making it more accessible for farmers. Join us in support of Maxwell Farm!
